New Toy!!!

It's been awhile since I posted. I have been very busy! I started homeschooling and even though it has been stressful, I have really enjoyed it. I hope it will make a difference for my boys' education! I will post more about that soon.
Right now though, I want to talk about my new toy!! I bought the new Cricut Imagine! HSN had a great deal, and being a part of the Cricut circle, I get a free cartridge too. I am super excited about the Imagine.
It looks like it will be a great new addtion to the Cricut family. I have played with it a little bit since it arrived here on Monday.
I am hoping I will be able to put a project together soon. I will be sharing my journey with this new toy here. :)
I am really excited about crafting again!! No more creative blocks for me!! Hopefully I will be back to my old habit of getting all my scrapbooks caught up, and keep them that way..
More on the Imagine soon..
Hope everyone has a wonderful start to a new fall season!!!

One year later...........

A year ago today, I was being told that the baby I was carrying wasn't "viable". I never in my life had heard crueler words. I knew today was going to be hard since it has only been a year. But in a cruel turn of events my dear cousin and his wife, had to face today what I faced last year. I don't know how much more cruel life can be. The fact that we are now intertwined forever losing beloved children, and the very fact it happened exactly one year later, is soo unnerving and numbing.
I am here on vacation trying to wrap my mind around not having a 6 month old baby to chase after, and to deal with my cousins having the very same problem.. Sometimes life is a cruel thing, and I know that it will get better, and the pain will be less, but I just wish that we could all have our angel babies.
You were never in my arms little one, but you are always in my heart..

Happy Independence Day!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July!! I also hope that everyone takes a moment, and remembers what today means. Our freedom is a right bequeathed to us, by our heavenly Father, and the founding fathers knew what that meant, and they secured our rights for us. Don't forget to thank a soldier when you see one too. They continually sacrifice their lives, and time with loved ones so we can continue to be free. We are a blessed nation because of their sacrifices.
God Bless The USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I pray you all have a wonderful Independence Day!!! God Bless!!

Hopefully I will have all my projects posted by the first of the week, if not sooner.
I sure am enjoying the weather today. We are having thunderstorms and it makes it perfect weather for scrapbooking and napping. No naps today but I am getting a lot done.
I sure hope everyone is having a wonderful friday afternoon.
Happy Crafting!

a little poem I wanted to share..

I wrote this about a week ago. It is still in it's raw form, I need to go back and change a few things to make it sound better. I was up late, and this just popped in my head. I am soo glad I am able to still think of poetry! It has been 15 years since I have written anything! :)

Waves crash on the forlorn shore
Loves memories scattered among the sand.
Her gaze out to the ocean covered in tears.
Long too long has this sadness been.
Sand falls from her fingertips as she gently rakes the beach
Slowly, surely with a tender cry she gives her last memory life.
Gone is the hurt, the numbness, and strife, for a love soo long gone.
Loves whispers left this place long ago, evenso she held tight to the memory of it's birth.
Always longing for a return of what never can be.
Slowly she rises the waves crashing in on the shore, she gathers what remains of love's loss.
Steady she goes, relief flooding her as she gives her memories to the sea.
Loves no more.
She turns to go, and the floods of pain release she is finally free. A prisoner to it no more.
Long she walks that night, feeling the wind caress her cheek, whispering to her of love so pure and so right.
The glistening water reflects the beauty of pain and love so deep.
She breaks the calm as she steps in, flooding relief envelopes her
Loves last whispers to her
Goodbye, Goodbye, love is no more.

Still need to do some editing and stuff, but that is it. Just was soo good to write something when it has been soo long. I used to write soo much.
Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.

Summer!!!!!

Nicholas only has three more days of school left this week, and I am excited. I really have enjoyed having Connor home as long as I have, and I wish I would have waited to put Nicholas into school until a little later.
We have some big changes in store for next year, and I think it will really bring us all closer together as a family.
Will hopefully post a couple pictures tomorrow of the awards he gets. I know he will have one for having the most AR points in his class.. My boy is an avid reader.. So happy about that.. :)

Hope you all have a wonderful start to your week!!!

My Goals. :)

I have realized I am letting my blog fall to the wayside again.. So I have decided to make myself a list of goals I can hold myself accountable to, and maybe by doing so, I will get a little more traffic to my pitiful blog.. lol..
I am trying to come to terms with my upcoming 30th birthday. I just can't believe I will be crossing the threshold into my middle age.. lol.. So because of that I figured I really need to get my life in order..
So here are my goals in no particular order.
Keep blog updated daily. With pictures, poems, and projects.. Just need to keep my creative juices flowing..
Be a better friend. I have been blessed with soo many friends, in real life and online, so I would really like to keep those friendships intact.
Lose weight!!! lots of it! gotta get on the treadclimber and work out at least 30 minutes a day.
Make at least 2 layouts a week. I would love to add to that number, but that is an attainable goal for right now.
Get my house in order to start homeschooling my older son Nicholas. He has been in public school, and I am just not happy with the way things have been going, so I intend on homeschooling him next year.
The last and most important goal of all. To spend more time reading the bible, and applying it to my life fully..
It really does change your life, and helps fufill so many voids in life.
I hope you all have a blessed weekend, and  wish me luck on attaining my goals. :)

Happy Mother's Day!!!!

I hope every mother has a wonderful Mother's Day tomorrow(today..)  I know this one for me is kinda bittersweet.. I should be holding a 4-month baby, but instead my Savior is.. I know my baby is in Jesus' arms, and I have come to terms with that.. I will catch myself wistfully thinking of what it would look like, whether it would be a girl or a boy.. etc.. I think maybe in some ways it helps a little..
My heart is also with my friend who recently lost her little boy.. I hope that Jesus will heal her hurt, and give her some comfort especially today...

I will have some more projects to post this week..

Hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day!!!!

Time for a Change

Well I decided to change my blog background. I like the other one, but I need a little change every now and again. Let me know what you think! :)

Mini-Album for my Best Friend :)

This is just a little mini album I made using cereal boxes, and paper from a DCWV stack. I used my bind-it-all.. (finally) and I also used the cricut to cut out the monkeys.. The cartridge is New Arrival. I also used my nestabiliities, and a chalk ink pad. The ribbon is from a pack of ribbon Costco sold a few years back.
I hope that my friend will like it. She did a monkey theme for her baby.
Thanks for looking!!

So glad today is Friday! I will be finishing up my house, and getting some more projects done.
I am working on a mini-album for my best friend. She had an adorable baby boy a couple weeks ago, and I am just soo excited for her! :) She chose a monkey theme for her nursery, so of course I am using monkeys.. I just hope she likes it. I will be posting pics, hopefully this weekend. I also have the pictures of my scraproom uploaded. I will be editing those and putting them up this weekend as well.
I sure hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Today is our last little break before we have to get back into the routine again.. I am soo looking forward to
homeschooling next year. It sure has been nice having Nicholas home. :) He has actually been in a better mood lately. :)

Spring Break

I sure have enjoyed spring break this past week. We started the week off by celebrating Nicholas' 9th birthday. I am still in shock he is 9!! I just wonder where all the time has gone?? It was like yesterday seeing him for the first time.. All that bright blonde hair! He was a beauty. I will have to share a layout I made many years ago, that just captured him soo perfectly.
I am just soo glad I get to spend my life with my sweet boys. :) I am blessed.
We will be ending our Spring Break with swimming and scrapbooking! I sure hope to add some more project soon.
Hope everyone is enjoying their week! :)

Happy Easter!!!!!

Today is such a beautiful day! An empty tomb found! Our Savior is Risen! :) This is one of my favorite holidays. It isn't about the easter bunny, or jelly beans, it is about Our precious Savior overcoming death!
I am soo blessed that He gave His life for all of us. What a beautiful sacrifice.
I hope you all enjoy today, and know Jesus is always there for us.
Happy Easter!!!!!!!  :)

I made these little Valentine treats for Nicholas' class for their Valentine's Party. Nicholas picked out the stamp he wanted to use, and I just colored it in. I used SU markers, and Sakura glaze pens. I also inked the edges of the white cardstock with SU ink. I embossed the red cardstock with the swiss dots embossing folder by Cuttlebug. The stamp is from the dollar stamps by Inkadinkado. I bought them at Joanns.
Thanks for looking! :)

Simple Valentine Card

I made this card for Freddy for Valentines Day. Used the Cuttlebug hearts folder, and one of the extra hearts I had left over from the mini album I made. (see below) The ribbon is from my stash, not sure what company is from. The button is from PaperTrey Ink.

Envelope Mini-Album

This is a quick little album I made for my mother in law and grandmother in law, for Valentine's Day.My husband wanted them to have some pictures so I made this up really quick. I used business size envelopes and just covered them with patterned paper. I believe the paper is from a My Mind's Eye Stack I bought from Costco, many years ago. The flowers are from the Heidi Swapp line, and the buttons are from PaperTrey Ink. I also used SU ink to ink the edges of the paper. The heart is cutout using the Hannah Montana Cartridge from Cricut. Why do I have a Hannah Montana cartridge when I have only boys?? It has some really neat musical elements on it. It is really a pretty neat cartridge. I also used a Martha Stewart border Punch to embellish the edges of the album. Also some stickles for to give the hearts a little glitz.
I have a couple other albums I am working on for mother's day and father's day, I will post those after the days come. :)

Card Using Iris Folding Technique

This card was what we made at our March Stamp Club meeting. All the supplies for this card are Stampin Up. The patterned paper is the retired tea party designers series paper. The flowers are cut out using the cricut Walk In my Garden Cartridge. I also used the swiss dots embossing folder by Cuttlebug. Iris folding is a lot easier than it looks. I really enjoyed learning this technique, and it just looks so elegant on projects.
I have a lot more projects to upload. I am soo glad I can finally upload pictures again!! :)

I am Trying to Find my creativity!!!

I have been in such a fog lately. I haven't done much creating of any kind for the past couple of weeks, except for my Christmas gifts. I finished up some stuff yesterday, and I will try to get the pictures posted of that on Sunday. I will be out of town, tomorrow, and Saturday. I am going to Tampa with my Grandma, Dad, and Aunt. We are going to see the Bold Fresh Tour with Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly. Politics are my second love, and I really admire tthose two guys. So does my family. My Grandma is just sooo excited!! lol!!
I think it will be a great time tomorrow night, and I hope that on the way back home Saturday we can stop at a couple of scrapbooking stores down that way. It sure will be nice to get some fresh ideas, because I have not set foot in a craft store in months. I am jonesing!!! I still have my Stampin Up club I am apart of, so I get my fix that way, mostly.. lol.. I just want to look at paper!! lol.. Not that I don't have enough. ;)
Well, here is hoping that I will be better at keeping my blog up. I really love sharing what I make even if it doesn't look as professional as I would like, but I have lots of fun trying! :)
I borrowed my sisters wild card cartridge so I am hoping to play with that when I get back this weekend.
I have a busy week next week. I am painting my church room, and decorating it for our curriculum theme.
Hope you all have a wonderful Friday tomorrow!!!!
Happy Crafting!!! :)
